Statement to the Media – strongest condemnation of reduction of maternity benefits (Condemnation signed by Women Caucus in House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament and a group of NGOs)

Women Caucus in Parliament of FBiH and a group of NGOs strongest criticizes reduction of maternity benefits for working mothers in Sarajevo Canton.

Namely, Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Sarajevo Canton as an argument of reduction of maternity benefits stated long-term law violation in a field of calculation of fees for the working mothers.

We, the undersigned, consider this as impermissible violation of Women’s Human Rights.

We demand of Assembly of Sarajevo Canton consideration of adopted amendments to the law in a field of maternity benefits for working mothers. Also, we demand urgent reaction on annulment of the adopted amendments that violate women’s rights.
